Today, we went to Mark’s graduation, the son of Dixie and John (GLA). It was short and very well done; there were only 24 students who have finished their High School. (See picture June-July 2013) Following that, we went for supper in an Italian restaurant in Petionville. It was very good and the plates were full. We had a good time together (GLA Staff).

Sunday, June 2

Yesterday, we went to the bank and we did grocery shopping. Today, we went to see the girls at their apartment in Delmas after a meal at “Épi D’Or.” We had a great time to explain how to use the can to kill the unwanted bugs in their apartment.

It is quite hot at this time, even at Fort-Jacques and we do not have a lot of rain. I hope that this will change.

Monday, June 10

What a beautiful week-end at the beach. We were in a beautiful hotel in the Caribbean at Moulin Sur Mer in Haiti. It was our annual retreat to recharge our batteries and know each other a little bit more. Saturday night, we had a karaoke night and we all sang, even Georges and me. The owners of the hotel were there and they sang; they have very nice voice. (See picture June-July 2013) The food is excellent and the choice is varied. I even had a massage and it did me good to unknot my sore muscles.

Friday, June 14

Last Wednesday, we had a violent storm. Lightning strike near the Toddler House in Thomassin and the three inverters were damaged. Now, they are repaired.

Wednesday, June 26

Last Sunday, June 16, we went to Kathiana’s graduation. She received her diploma from the Teacher School (École Normale de Delmas) as a Kindergarten Teacher. Her mother was so proud of her and, Kathiana is now the family caretaker as her brother died in the earthquake in 2010. We are also very proud of her as she has worked so hard to obtain her certificate from the school and the government.

At this moment, we must really count on God and let Him take his course. Many of our electric appliances have broken and to have them repaired cost a lot of pennies; especially if we want someone who knows how to do it.

Tuesday, July 16

God is good and He provided for all our needs. Sunday, July 7, we had supper with Louise, from New Life Church in Montreal, before she left for vacation in Quebec. She has helped me to recover from low spirit attitude. I really love talking to her. Louise is a source of joy and she puts all her trust in God in all areas of her life. It is a pleasure to be with her.

Lately, we have had a lot of construction teams who helped a lot to finish the interior of the little houses. It looks like it takes an eternity to finish, but we work with teams when they are there and with the money available.

We have three wedding this year in Haiti, the first one on July 27, the second one on August 14 and the third one on December 25. Yes, you read it well, it is Christmas day. Here in Haiti all the dates are good for a wedding.

End words:

-  Insights from Max Lucado  -

Grace has happened to you. Look at your feet. They are wet, grace soaked. Jesus has washed the grimiest parts of your life. He didn't bypass you and carry the basin toward someone else. Can't you share your grace with others?
