December 2011

We had a wonderful month of December, grace be to the Lord Jesus. We
went to a lot of birthday parties of the staff who works at the orphanage and
their children. We celebrated Christmas with the family of John and Dixie,
directors of the orphanage. On Christmas Eve, we had a candle light service
with Christmas songs and the story of Jesus birth told from a children’s book.
It was very refreshing to hear the story with simple words.

The week-end of Christmas, we went to Delmas and brought back the Haitian girls, Losita, Yannick and Kathiana and also Reginald to celebrate Christmas together. We had a great time and we have laughed a lot. On Christmas day, we went to Pastor Brandon’s church with the girls and Regi. The 2nd daughter of Pastor Brandon got baptised that morning and she was so happy that Georges was there because she loves him a lot. (See photos December).

Also, during the month of December, we went to a retreat with all the international staff of GLA. We travelled 5 hours by car and boat to go there. It was at Abaka Bay Resort on “Ile à Vache” in Haiti. It is a gorgeous place and it was easy to take a complete break from work. We did not feel that we were in Haiti. The only hic was sand fleas. Everyone was bitten except Georges, we all want to know his secret. If we go back we will bring some Off for the bugs. (See
photos December).

The thought of the month: « God puts each fresh morning, each new chance of life, into our hands as a gift to see what we will do with it. »

We wish you a wonderful New Year and great health!

Cordially,

Jocelyne and Georges
